I have only dug a few, so they all make the favorite list :laughing7: I really like the rattlesnake buttons. I have dug two of them, both from the same site, but about 10 years apart. I dug the second one in Nov 2008. I bought the "Don't tread on Me" (Chatham Artillery) button about a year ago, about the same time I decided to go ALL IN with rattlesnake buttons and get this tattoo :headbang:

Of course my best Patriotic button is actually a cufflink. A lot of you have probably seen it before as I have posted it on several forums in the past. Finally a couple of Harrison Campaign Buttons from (amazingly) the same small site as the Rattlesnake and Stars buttons. These were both dug on the same day.

Now those are some nice buttons. That cufflink is pretty sweet. Nice tattoo too. :icon_thumleft:

You have a great collection of patriotic buttons Steve! The Chatham button is bad to the bone :headbang:
I hope I manage to get my detector over a snake button one day!

Those are some KILLER finds! :headbang:

Now all you need is a good "Jackson Victory" button.

Beautiful buttons Steve :hello2:,,

I'm like you the snake buttons are really special pieces of history and I'd love to dig a couple more of the different styles. They are so tough to find though, in fact I can't recall seeing anyone dig the type you found down here in SC. The Harrison button we see occasionally but even that one we don't see turn up very often in these parts. I'm still looking for one! :D Well congrats on your awsome buttons, you've found some great relics in PA.

PS oh forgot about your cufflink that's bad asz. I've seen one dug down here and the joker ended up selling it for a hefty sum at auction. I don't think I could have done that because a digger would be hard pressed to ever find another one!

I absolutely love the rattlesnake buttons and just want one some day. Take one of those over a GW in a heartbeat. That link is ridiculous! I have found one button that is potentially a patriotic political button will will never have a definite id. Seems to be the consensus among the experts. I love it regardless.

Thanks Abe, I think it would be cool to collect as many variants of the rattlesnake buttons as possible. But that would require a large cash outlay, because you sure as heck aren't gonna dig 'em. Your button is interesting with the 13 little flowers forming a 5 pointed star. Very well could be some political symbolism there. I have one other that I believe is a patriotic button. It was found at the same site as the G. Washington cufflink. It is stamped sheet brass like the rattlesnake buttons, and it has 13 stripes like the Bar Cent.
