the 1st best finds that started it all!! whats ur story??
so in the early years it all started with the passion to find a point after seeing a few, a good friend had found.. so after striking out the back door some odd years ago to find one i was rewarded with a sweet woodland point. well that leads to a few years of hunting and trekking about 90+ now in points. but during one of these trips doing some river shore hunting i spot a odd shape.. well it turns out to be a Germans Mothers cross. ( missing the insignia ) so i bought the Bounty hunter 202 to try and find it.. well one thing lead to another, and things slowed down for a few years.. but with the lead to this site ( T-Net ) from a golden friend. that helped put me back in full swing. especially seeing all the neat stuff that was being found by the rest of my fellow hunters. so i have been hard core ever since!! what is Ur story of how it started for u?? Great Topic Idea!
I Purchased my first MD in March of this year, after discovering the T-Net site and seeing all the great finds.
After a week or two of learning the machine, I made my 2 Best Finds to date in the space of a few days.
I think that these would give anyone the fever!
Massachusets Cent & Dutch Trade Ducat.
Best Digs to All!

Back in the 80s, my brother had purchased a White's DL 6000 (I think that's the name). Then a few years later he found himself in a bit of a financial bind and wanted me to buy it from him. So, to help him out I did.
Several years later, my wife was concerned about the number of nail heads etc that were in a round pen she used for training her horses. Of course by this time the batteries were long gone and I had to call several dealers before I found one that would order and ship me the batteries. Having done that and then spending most of a summer afternoon picking up bits and pieces of nails from the round pen, (should have used a strong magnet but we aren't all genius's) I was reasonable pleased with the results and my wife was happy.
I then got to wondering about the latest technologies and did some searching around to see what all was available. Expressed my interest to a fellow employee and he said, "Hey, I have a Garrett detector in the closet that I can let you use to see if you like it better than that old White's"
After using the Garrett in my yard, and finding everything from minor coins to a small bronze or brass buckle, I decided I could enjoy this hobby.
It was so easy to use, showed how deep you need to dig, and what the potential target might be, I was blown away at the differences. Of course, if I'd spent any real effort on the White's, I'd have learned a lot more there as well.
With one thing and another I ended up first getting Tesoro Bandido Umax, then a White's XLT spectrum, then an MXT, then........... today I have three water machines, two Tesoro's and at four Garrett's, and not much time to hunt..............
It's been a lot of fun and good clean exercise, all because I wanted to help my brother out of a financial bind. That's my story without too much detail.
Be blessed!
