    My Best Finds

Here are some of my best finds. I haven't found a lot of nice stuff, but what I have found is great! I have only been detecting for a little over a year, but I am hooked for life. I found all of these in my yard except for the pocket knife which I found at an old homesite. The button is a rare 1820's Phoenix Button I found in my yard. You can see I have also found a colonial shoe buckle and a musketball.

Nice finds but I don't think that's a colonial shoe buckle.

    Gold Coin
    1600's silver (of any type)

A nice button. Looks like a brass buckle used for some kind of horse gear.

i dont know why but when i see relics it makes me think of the person who lost it and how it was used or why it was lost. Relics are like a window in to the past. Thanks for sharing and im sure you will find MANY more awesome relics in the MDing years to come. wtg

Thanks James. I love finding relics too. I did find a pretty cool find today in my front yard that I will post later. It's not something you find everyday! HH!

And its that you don't find a relics everyday that makes each one special. If we found gold rings everyday then they wouldn't be a special find. if you had found 30 of those buttons, would they mean as much as much as if you only found one? most likely not. And that's what makes that one find so unique. Cant wait to see what you found today!
