    This is one of mine, found today. 15th century copper alloy thimble found with fabric inside.

    Nice one Colin , I thought I had found a tailors thimble once, but when I got it home and cleaned it it was an ordinary one with the top broken

    Thimbles I have many...The one below is a sterling silver one from the Victorian era, found last year.





    This one is one of many found at a CW era campsite. It has the phrase "Be Merry & Wise" engraved. Many of these found at the site have phrases similar to this one:

    I had not considered it but it may be a good candidate.

    It may be worth it, I am going to have this Tudor thimble repaired, and yours is a great candidate too
