Nice one Colin , I thought I had found a tailors thimble once, but when I got it home and cleaned it it was an ordinary one with the top broken

Thimbles I have many...The one below is a sterling silver one from the Victorian era, found last year.

This one is one of many found at a CW era campsite. It has the phrase "Be Merry & Wise" engraved. Many of these found at the site have phrases similar to this one:

I had not considered it but it may be a good candidate.

It may be worth it, I am going to have this Tudor thimble repaired, and yours is a great candidate too

I'd love to know the story behind that. Why was a marble stuck inside? did a kid take his Mothers thimble and do that or was it something else?

This is my best one so far, which is embarrassing compared to those medieval Jobbies... But it's pretty intricate, has some initials engraved on it, and for once, it's in ONE piece. I'm standing by it
