    Colonial Shoe Buckle Chape Theme

I wanted to start a thread on Colonial shoe buckle chapes. If you found them, post them on this thread. I only want chapes though. I do have a fascination with them, so it will be fun to see the different types.

Here are mine from the past two years. They were dug on different sites that were known for producing Colonial coins and relics.

Nice one, Dwayne! That chape dates to the early-1700s. Thanks for sharing, my friend.

Looking good, Keith! They are broken buckle pieces, but they still get my Colonial blood pumping. Thank you for sharing a great piece of SC history.

Looks like you are hunting some good colonial sites. What else have you been finding? The oval one is a mans knee buckle.

Hey thanks for the info.Im trying to picture a colonial mans kneebuckle.
Im going to have to search the net for some pics.
Now what did a knee buckle actually buckle? The top of a boot or something to the knee?
