18th Century Display
My wife and I went to some antique stores today in a very Colonial town. We both agreed that the one we visited was the best yet. My main goal while in these stores is to locate items that represent the 18th century. I consider this my hobby in the winter months.
I bought two Riker display cases for a great price. I got a 12" X 16" for only $6.50. After we got home, I put them to great use. My goal was to make a display case that depicted the 18th century. I also made up a smaller display case for my wife's friend's husband. The last time we were at their house, he was showing us some of his curio cabinet collection of different items (fossils, arrowheads, etc.). I am going to present him with this later in the week and I know he will definitely enjoy it. I put two Colonial musketballs, an Archaic arrowhead, and two Colonial buttons in the case.
Keep the passion high!

Very very nice displays Kirk, I thank Steve in Pa for getting me to start using Riker mounts instead of Shadow boxes. So much easier to setup and change again if necessary! You did a great job of displaying your finds.

I enjoyed putting this display together. I am going to get more of the larger ones and do an early-1800s display. I just want to be able to enjoy my collection without having to go through my boxes. I now can just open up my closet and there is a Colonial display. Steve is the man!

Yes, they are Spanish 2 Reales. I actually have 2 other ones, but they are not of 18th century origin. Stay warm, book, on Long Island.

Re: 18th Century Display
Good start Kirk. Now go get some more filled
Riker mounts are the way to go with flat items such as coins, buttons, buckles, bullets, etc. I must have close to a hundred filled by now.

With the coins and artifacts included I am sure.
Being a New Yorker, the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Riker is an island that I never want to be near. You sure came up with a great way to display them. Much better than artifacts and coins scattered across my desk and tables and in boxes under the bed like mine
Nice work!

Good luck! Those things seem to get smashed pretty easy in the mail. About half of an order I had were broken but I couldn't fault the seller because they were packed better than how I would have sent them!
