Just a question - Silverplate or sterling?

is that a general question? If so, I'm sure plated would be allow
Yup, general.
I'm assuming your lady up there is sterling.

I was at a old homestead built in 1875 monday dec 27 th found 16 sterling spoons black as coal... i am presently working on cleaning these spoons there soaking in lemon juice and i also am doing a lil cleaning with a toothbrush and flouride toothpaste... the property belongs to a Centralia police officer, he said anything i find is all mines... because he just bought the land and they will be building there future home there starting this spring, i live in one of his houses, it was built in 1897, went back tuesday found 5 more spoons a old victorian silver chain and pendant with green stones and a sterling bracelet which weighed 66 grams... would like to give my Tesoro Compadre a thumbs up for this find which was about 12 inches deep. never thought i could get this deep with this machine... i also own a Tesoro Lobo........ the maker on the spoons is WM Rogers AND SONS PATENTED NOV 3 1910) Been told they were the high end stuff back in the day only the wealthy could afford.. HH HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL...

a magnet is not at all attracted to any of them

Floral fork is "Wm. Rogers and Son" name followed by an eagle, which identifies a piece made by William Hazen and William Henry between about 1856 and 1861"

One is Hall and Elton and says H & E co 3 1/2 on back it is also from mid 1800's, and has "H S Kelsey" engraved on handle.

One says Sterling Silver Co on back and has "Bangor Exchange" engraved on handle.

The smallest spoon look as if it says Niagara Falls Co but I'm not positive...

The bent fork says something Bros A1.

The 2nd smallest spoon says Royal Plate.

still scared to call them silver... even the one marked plate won't stick.

Romeo, nice "middle tine" fork LOL. . .

The wooded areas that I've hunted have produce a LOT of tableware. . . lost in the early 1900's by campers & Boy Scouts (they loose everything).
The two pieces that I cherish the most are a sterling spoon engraved with "Joan" and a fur-trade fork that was found near a river
with "Russian Blue" trade beads and several 1/2-Reales from the 1770's.

Three forks and two knives marked "Prussian Silver", found in a turn of the century logging camp. Not very shiny but they don't seem plated. camp pics 037.jpg P5152484.JPG
