    Lets see your early hand blown tavern lights.

    Here is an early tavern Christmas light, it must have been on a wall oil lamp or an early gas lamp. It turns colors when held up to the light. This old tavern site had been detected before, it was laying on top of the ground, there is an old dump near the site as well. Thanks for looking. Brian C.

    That’s cool. Can you tell me more about how they were used in place? This is new to me.

    Oil, gas, electric?? Do you have a link or a picture of some in use?

    I do not know of any link we can look at for this peace of glass. As far as how it was used I think it sat on top of the the lamp shade or chandler with many of these. The old tavern was torn down around the 1900s period. It makes for a good display peace, my wife said that this is the only thing I have found that she likes, I have found many interesting items over the 14 years detecting fields and trading post sites.
