This either came off of a radiator of one of these cars or was the actual hood emblem. I haven't found anyone who knows yet.
It would be interesting to know the value since it appears that it could be quite a rare piece. The Cole Motor Car Company was only in business for a decade or two before it's owner up and died.
I found this in an old lot last week along with many other interesting artifacts from days gone by.
You are looking at something in the hundreds of dollars to a hard core automotive collector.I'm not talking about Ebay sales, but private sales... Very nice find and super rare. I know several auto museums would love to get their hands on that..

I found this data plate from a Cole car. I did get an e-mail from a grandson or greatgrandson of the founder, I am currently looking for it and when I find it I will post what he said about this tag..
Yours is fantastic. Wish I had more information for you on yours and mine....

"The mantra has always been don't clean a (copper) coin or it will lose value.
For undug coins this is true. For dug coins this is untrue.
The value will increase with judicious cleaning."
The emblem is off a late Cole car, 1920-1925. The early emblems were larger & more colorful, with an eagle, & "standardized" or "Cole 8" on them. This emblem comes up on Ebay, & sells for $20-$75 depending on condition. It is a rare find, & it would be interesting to know if the estate it was found in had once owned a Cole & kept this to remember it by. Any picture albums, etc? Congrats Leroy
Thanks for the info. I have not been on here for a long time.
The estate where it was found is a vacant lot, but many interesting things have come out of it. I have been considering a trip back there. 8)
