went to a local swimming hole here in texas back in june. did the usual hunt, found some decent battery money. near the end of the trip, I was swinging "the garrett" and as I usually do, I'm detecting with my eyes too. then I see this nice high school class ring. pretty much brand new,just laying right on top of the grass in plain view. local school with a full name engraved. awesome. look up the names in phone book, make a few calls , and nothing. contacted school, left name and px #. still nothing. went on the schools website, found one school club sponsors phone #. called him and he knew the student. maybe 3 minutes later I 'm talking to him arranging a place to meet. an hour later I was able to return the ring in person. love that internet! what a reward. thats my best so far.
