I have one badge to show. How many of you have a " Bathing Suit Inspector " badge ;D I consider this to be one of my most unusual finds.

My favorite badge was found in 1984 at the site of where the Stables were for the Mounted Police kept the horses that they rode to patrol the 5000 acre WWI munitions plant and town. I was surprised to see it come out of the ground as is and with the pin intact and in working condition. A couple of nice houses sit on the site now. >:(

Also back in the 1980s at the same complex found perhaps 20 or more of the photo ID badges of the workers, evidently when the war was over and the need for the munitions plant vanished, the workers must have turned in their photo IDs to the Security Police building, since myself and another fellow found quite a few there behind where the building used to stand.

These are celluloid photos, and on some the ID number, some letters and you can make out some individuals on them, most found were deteriorated and basically just the celluloid was left, but all had the raised lettering on the back side saying ATLANTIC LOADING CO. AMATOL NJ

Again, back in the 1980s, while hunting a homestead near the town of Belcoville NJ I found a few photo ID's of their workers, their badges were a bit smaller than the Amatol ID's.

I do believe this badge is cool, I found mine years ago at a isolated site, at least 20 miles from Atlantic City, and since that time I have seen others posted on occasion, and my son found another variant of one just a few years ago. I love the accepted spelling of BUSS on the badge.

Romeo, I really think some neat badges could be posted by other members, could be a great thread. Your Boy Scout badge is huge! Don't remember seeing any that big.

Here is a lead badge off a trunk I think, it came out of an old tavern site. I think it is the 1870s to late 1800s time period. HH
