Great! Lots of coins ... I like that! Gawd, I'm glad I don't have to use that iron.

Is that a wooden toothbrush I see???

short answers, since oct 2001, but spent oct 03 to jan 05 Iraq, which is where I got the coins, suspect them as being molds though, I have a few real (not pictured). Where do I hunt? Previously hunted, or hunted out sites mainly, occassionally find a virgin site, but rarely.

:o You da man!! I've wanted to find scrip for years and have had no luck so far. Do you detect around the old company stores or around the miner's homes? Would love to find some scrip, any advice would be appreciated. I try for scrip in Eastern OH and South Eastern KY.

just like the gold saying goes, scrip is where you find it, I have alot of aluminum pieces that are quite ugly and ring up quite trashy(not pictured), those pictured are brass and ring up like a coin, but it kinda sucks digging up a sweet dollar sound in 40's ground and pop up a piece when you are hoping silver, I enjoy them just as well though. I have found them about everywhere around here, schoolyards, graveyard paths (those leading into the graveyard, not in the graveyard itself) private residence, just about anywhere you expect to find change. No real method, just like finding anything else but like the rest you would have the best luck at old miner houses or parks or churches in mining camps.

Thanks all, should have seen me trying to lug that iron around for two hours trying to detect my way back to the truck, I was about 2 miles through rough WV terrain into the woods, found it and wedge for wood chopping and a 20 something wheatie and that was it. I have quite a bit of junk not pictured, coins and scrap, was just wanting to take a few shots for someone else to see besides me. Also lost my first and only Franklin Half (1953) 2 days after finding it. Have given a few mercs and roosies away as goodwill pieces to property owners, which has helped some. BTW I pictured my bullets next to the sadaam money and the service token for a reason, besides wanting to show the sadaam money, didn't feel right picturing it without it being surrounded by US for the short answer.
