I also posted it on a bottle hunting forum . A few days later someone from that forum sent me a PM asking if I wanted to trade it for something . I didn't answer back because I still had no idea what it was worth . The next day he emailed again " I really like that bottle would you take $1800.00 for it ? Are there any chips ? " At first I thought the decimal point was in the wrong spot . So I sent him a picture of a tiny nick on the neck . He wrote back " thanks for your honesty - how about $1600.00 - here's my phone no."
I called him - made arraignments to meet at LL Beans parking lot in Freeport the next day .
I handed him the brown paper bag with the bottle in it , He quickly examined it , said he loved it , " come over to my van " At his van he got a wad out from under his seat . We made the exchange , talked a little about bottle hunting - then my girlfriend and I come out of there real quick in case he changed his mind . It kind of felt like we were doing a drug deal or something . After a small shopping spree we went out to dinner . The rest went to pay bills .

That's great man! How great is it when your hobby starts to pay for itself?!? I always get skeptical and think....if he's offering me this much, what it really worth? Always feel like I'm going to be suckered.
Mojjax....good sites down around the Damariscota River...know there were early settlements along the river..haven;t really researched it too heavily, for don;t think I;d ever get there, but do know there were alot of colonial and earlier forts etc around there, so you should have some prime areas to hit....HH!!!
