I was metal detecting in Mill Valley California hunting an empty lot where an old house was torn down. Right under where the old house once stood was this sterling silver match box buried under
about 2 inches of dirt and dust. My metal detector really sounded off on this! It probably sat under that house in dry conditions for a 100 years or more. Even the wooden match sticks are still intact! It's missing the top portion of which I tried to find. Really like the personal message engraved on the sides....

I hunted that area looking for the top piece until my arm fell off! Believe me, I really wanted the other part!

I've dug a brass one, and the front of a silver one that someone cut out the Denver scene that was on the front, but man, that's one nice old piece.
Go back and get the rest, the odds are more than good that it's there.

Its possible it went to where ever they Dumped the House But Hopfully It Just Got Moved A Little Farther away from the House Chug
