Railroad locks are very collectible. Anything RR is collectible for that matter. Obviously allot depends on the age, RR Line and what it's worth to a collector. Even those lead seals that they used to lock up the baggage cars are worth $$$. They are about the size of a nickel and will have the name of the RR on it. I use to sell them to a local collector from $20-$200 a piece! Never throw away anything that can be identified as RR related.

It's a lead seal that was applied to a boxcar lock or door after it was loaded. When the train got to its destination and the seal was in tact it was assumed that the cargo had not been compromised during the trip. Most of the seals have city named or numbers on the other side.
This is one I found the other day. It's from the South Florida RR which ran from 1880-1893.
