    Tested as high grade silver dating to the early 1500s.

    Probably a spur buckle

    Man that is nice. Would sure love to find a buckle like that one. Definately looks to be of great quality. Wonder if it came from a famous maker of its time?

    I just thought that since London City Marks were introduced in 1300, Date Letters in 1478, & Makers Marks in 1363, that the Buckle
    might be marked! Forgive me if I'm wrong!

    No not marked. - Should have said "Way before commonly used hallmarks"

    There were many other makers other than London and even there only the finest pieces were marked.
