These are Clay Baby Concretion Formations that are naturally sculpted by the waves and sea water interacting with clay, minerals, and sun.

I've also attached an eBay list of the many clay babies I've found along the shores of Washington at eBay My World - elva2-half

somebody dumped a bunch of clay babies at the hansen creek quartz site a few years go - I was scratching my head on why I was finding them there... Until I met the man who said he planted them.

These are not planted. Whenever the tide goes out, I search the beach and find new ones that have been uncovered by the waves. This whole section of the island has natural clay that is mostly buried by all the rocks on the shore and in the water. It's fun when I find some older ones too.
