Three from our Top Twenty
Howdy All. Here are 3 goodies from some of our best finds dug at three different sites in NC and FL.
The teapot was a real surprise, found some like on the intenet from the late 1880's. As the story goes there was a local flood in the 1940's, I think the teapot was washed away for us to find. It took about 30-min to get out of the ground but we could not ID it till it was totally excavated.
The buckle is an Anson Williams they were made c 1887 for the Indian Wars and later for the Spanish American War and the Boer War in South Africa. Anson Williams was a commander in the Cival War and went on to do other things like make ammo belts for the military.
The ring dates from only the 1950's or so but it is real cool. I am not sure if it is solid silver, it has an Eposito mark on it. I believe the yarn attached is to make it fit the owners sweethearts's finger. Probably a story there.
Anyway thanks for tuning in and good luck out there. C9

Excellent! Really like that tea kettle! I found a portion of a pot or kettle once, but never a whole one. I agree that there is probably a rich story behind that ring.
