Just think how much they lost.
A Penny was cut into 4 farthings & a shilling is 12 pennies.
This one belonged to the wealthiest around, this was a months wage for 90% of the populus.

Amazing coin! I agree on the plows . I pulled a nice buckle out of a battle site area a couple of months ago and a plow had had its way with it but I have pulled stuff out in great shape also. Just luck I guess. HH
