Yes with a metal detector 1-2" in ploughed soil about 5 years ago.

I had detected this field for 3 days solid with only a few buttons. I nearly gave up, but stubbon as ever on the 4th day it popped up. Had to travel to Oxford Museum to get identified as its unpublished.
