Great finds when you can metal detect prospect and find artifacts. Nice dove heel plate. Is that gold in a black stone?? I got my first gold this year in Tennessee,,,, could be addictive. Good post.
Thanks for the nice compliments! The stone I think you mean is actually Covellite, its hard to see but it is acctually a dark irridecent blueish-purple. The "gold" stuff is iron pyrite. Congratz on the gold! It is addictive! LOL! Pics after the Covellite ARE real gold that I have panned, about 1.7grams. Thanks for looking!

Is that gold in the black stones?

No, It is Iron pyrite. The stones are acctually a very dark irridesent blue/purple, so dark it looks black in the pics, but when you see them in the sun in real life you can really see the blue/purple color.
