Not sure how I forgot to post this on treasurenet but here it is, I found this almost 3 months ago and was my first really cool find. I just happened across a website that had them and found out that it is made by the Clark Mfg. Company, and manufactured in the 1800's probably around the 1870s. In good time I hope to recover the other half of the hinge. Apparently the reproductions of these sell for about 12$ and an original in good condition is worth about 60$. Thanks for checking this out as it is my favorite find thus far on my metal detecting journey.
