As some of you may know, about 5 years ago I found 17 hammered silver coins plus a 1580s jetton in 2 scattered caches next to a very early homesite. Another 9 were dug by 3 of my friends who hunted the site with me. I finally decided to put mine in a nice wooden display case with labels and give them the recognition they deserve. When all is said and done this will probably be my "find of a lifetime" as I can't imagine how I could do any better. But that's why we're all out there swinging, isn't it??

Wow! Completely amazing!

Give us some more info in the dig...what do you mean by scattered? Like, in a jar but broken by a plow?

I did a magazine article about this a few years ago. If you PM me your email address I'll send you a copy of the pdf.

Great display of an amazing cache find! Was this on an England trip? I would be surprised the local museum would something like that out og their country (if from there).

Found it less than 5 miles from my house here in southeast VA.

At the time I was using a White's MXT. A year later I borrowed a friend's Minelab GPX-4000 and found 3 more that were really deep. One of them came from a measured 22" if you can believe that.

Bill actually posted this when he found them AND IT DIDN'T MAKE THE BANNER!!

I remember him saying it was a number of years ago, it might have been during one of my hiatus's. I wouldn't worry about "banner", it's pretty much a joke.

Yep, I remember when these were dug. And I remember the lack of a banner on them. Goodness, Tnet surely missed the boat on that Find of a Lifetime! ::)

Glad to see such a nice display. This was truly an amazing recovery.

Cheers,

Buck
