N.C civil war button???!?!???

I found this at a house that dates back to the 1820's. the man that lives there now is well over 80 years old and told me many stories about the troops that marched through the area. He heard these stories from his grandfather who was 15 when the troops came through. There are some items I don't know what they are so please let me know what you know. Thanks

Nope, looks modern to me. Like the kind of button found commonly at any WWI or WWII type places. Lots of GI's returned to homes throughout the USA after the wars, and lost those type buttons. Does not look "CW" to me.

The button is a US Great Seal button made post war 1902+ The one you have looks to be the ones from WWI,
