Several years ago, My friend and I were metal detecting in a plowed field that was an agriculltural fairground
until 1910, when it closed. We hadn't had any luck and were about to leave and headed back toward my van. I still had my detector on and was waving it on the way. I got a nice signal and kicked the dirt aside and went over the spot, again, and no signal. I went over a dirt clod next to the spot and my detector sounded off, again. I broke open the clod and there was a nice 20 cent piece. I had never seen one, before. Over the years, I have found numerous 1800's silver and Indian Head cents, there.

That one's way better than Fine (F12). It is at least Very Fine (VF20+). Perhaps close to Extremely Fine (EF40). And it looks like the soil was kind to it, as well.

Congratulations. While valuable, it is not worth a king's ransom, but I would rank something like that as the find of a lifetime (or at least in the top five or ten, depending on what else you've found over the years).

A truly amazing find.

I concur with the grade. VF+ Not quite XF I'd say. Quite a coin though!
