I found this 1916D dime in S.L.C. back in 1990. I found it at 3 inches deep with my Tesoro Inca. When I first recovered the dime, I saw the 1916 first. I was thinking to my self, could it be. As in the past I have found the 1916 and the 1916S. When I turned the dime over my heart was pounding as if I hit the jack pot. I could faintly make out the D mint mark. I kept looking away and then looking at the dime to make sure it wasn't and illusion.

Great find there, Shark. You'd have a tough time topping that. Haven't found one ot those in 28 years of MDing. Had to buy one to complete my Mercury Dime set. Cost me $500.00 and it's in about the same shape as yours.

You should send it off and get it graded/authenticated. It will be worth it to do that. It is at least a 400-600 dollar coin.

GREAT find.... ;D
