MY BEST COIN FINDS: TWO(2) 1916 D MERCURY DIMES

I feel very fortunate to have dug up two 1916 D Mercury dimes in my md'ing career. Th nicest one was found back in the 70's in the outfield of a Midwestern Illinois park ball diamond. Notice the detail on it. The poorest one was found in the front yard of an old couple's home. It was found in the '80's. Back then, I had some pretty bad digging habits and probed with a screwdriver as indicated by the nicks on the coins. I have learned a lot in later years. Many coin dealers don't even have one of these.

It's a good thing you tucked them away all these years. If you look at a redbook from the 70s and 80's
and now 2009 look at the huge price jump.
