Found this at a old Acadian site.

Almost passed it up.!!!!!

Was very shallow target 1 inch.....not sure if I was really happy at first or just shocked...was expecting to see a pulltab !!!

Real pretty coin! Do you know the history of the site? Any other good finds from there?

Yes ..it,s a old Acadian village..there is 8 old foundations and a windmill foundation. This settlement was from the early 1600s to 1700.

I went over this site before..and found almost nothing. Also found 5 musket balls/ nice silver ring / gold pendant/ 2 old coppers..1724 and a unknown. I found this stuff where the owner had whipper snipped it down short..the other 5 acres is long grass and thick..can,t do a thing in it.

But that was when I was new to detecting and probably the 5th or 6th time I had used the detector. So I think I most likely didn,t know what I was doing.

Same thing at another old spot..i went there twice...found nothing ..then decided to try one more time...pulled out 2 early 1800s coins and 1 1797 coin.
