My best find...s

Found 140 mercs in a mason jar next to a clothesline post about 5 years ago.

A little research and a few stories from friends led me to this little cache.

An old ladies post hole bank.

All different grades from the teens up through the 40's.

Yep I gave a Whoot, when I saw the coins in the jar.

The the old gal who buried it was smart. She put a piece of wax covered muslin on, then the seal, then the lid.
The lid was rusted through, but the muslin saved the coins in the condition they went into the jar.

Still searching that property, but have only found a few other coins here and there.

I don't have any idea of the value of these 140 coins other than the weight in silver, never had them checked.

I can tell you this. There are no 16 d's or 21's in the 140.

Look for 31D,26S,26D also, they are worth more than other common Mercs
