I consider this one of my best finds.

"The passenger steamer HIRAM R. DIXON, owned by the Booth & Co. running between the Soo and Michipicoten, on Wednesday night burned to the water's edge at Michipicoten Island. The crew barely escaped with their lives. She had on board a miscellaneous cargo. The steamer is a total loss.
