Hey All,
My name is walter Pantovic. I have been lurking your boards for quite a while now and decided that zi would purchase a machine and join in all the fun.
I have been a collector for many moons and I have dabbled in metal detecting before but not seriously. Its time to get serious.
I love American history and what better way to turn it up and preserve it than doing it like this.
I hope that when I get my new MineLab Explorer SE tommorow from ups that I can start finding some nice items (hopefully this weekend) and join in the posting fun .
Here are some pics from my private collection which is housed in Charleston SC. I have appr 4-500 items in the collection but the count depends becuse the museum will sometimes merge multiple items as one.
I have only dug a few items in the past, one being a liberty dime from 1862 (?) I think, an ornate clay pipe that is shaped like an African American mans face , a servant tag and some other bits and pieces.
Actually, I think that one or 2 of you on here probably have dug a few of the tags in my collection. (i think) That just adds to my excitement about this whole thing. If you did, thanks!
Anyway, I have been just amazed at what you people on here turn up. It really (and I mean this whole heartedly) is awe inspiring.
I never realized that so many people loved history as much as I do.
