I purchased my machine in late August 2013.

My best finds so far are :

A 1774 British Half Penney
and this...

I have tried for a few months now to find the owner with no luck.

As cool as it was to find it, I really wish I could hand it back to the rightful owner. I think they have probably moved on at this point as it looked to be there for a couple years. It was only a couple inches down and lit up my Garrett as would a nickle. I thought I would be happier to find something of value like this, but as it turns out someone was probably very sad to lose it. or... she was happy to pitch it out the car window... who knows the real story?

Nice ring!! It appears to be a anniversary band. I agree with you when you mentioned you'd like to give it back to the owner but without any inscriptions, you're opening up nothing but a box of worms. If I was you, I'd keep it or sell it.

Platinum is NICE!! Get it appraised from TWO jewelers (NOT pawn shops) and write the info down and take it from there. Most would undervalue it; just to get it off your hands.
