Rare Coin Trifecta...over 5 years! Let's see your scarce or rare finds!

Not many people are lucky enough to dig an actual rare coin. Even less have dug more than 1. Two weeks back I was lucky enough to dig my THIRD rare coin (R-5 or better), and I was wondering how many, like myself have been fortunate enough to have dug a scarce coin, R-3 or better on the Sheldon Rarity Scale.

If you're part of the Club, post your photos!

Below are my prized rare finds, showing most recent first:

1788 Ryder 5 Vermont Copper (R-5) that I dug last week,

1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime that I dug a few years back (R-5)

1789 Half Reale IV over III, NG Mint (R-6 or better?)

For me I have this very romantic idea of having this big beautiful collection in 20 years and being able to walk in there and look at it all and pick it up. Then think back to the day I found it. But I'm very new at this so maybe that will change at some point. I'm picturing 8 Mass silvers right there as the centerpiece.....ok time to wake up lol

I think we all start out with this type of idea. That was how I started out back in 1992... But now that I have the big beautiful collection, half of it's in the bank box, and the rest on shelves and put away or stacked up. I'm starting to realize that it'd take a dedicated couple of rooms to actually give it proper display. So that's the new vision...a new house, money to remodel, and some damned fine carpentry work. Easy, right? :D

Yep no problem lol. Well I have a huge section of my basement that I've started finishing off and I plan on that being the display room. I also have this grand idea of having a big security door with a thumbprint scanner too :-) ya know some 007 type stuff :-) It does help that I'm a builder but if I have spare time I like to be playing in the dirt.

I'd like to see some rare Religious items that were found; that would be the only type of item which I would consider keeping.

Anybody have something to show?

It's as easy as digging in a freshly plough clay soiled field that's had a few inches of fresh fallen rain. Work hard enough, slog through the BS, and in the end there's the dream come true. Kind of like detecting :dontknow:

You guys with the colonial finds kill me! Living North of North Dakota, I don't have the chance to find things that old. I did find this really nice key date 1903s Barber dime, which is about as good as it gets up here.

In a box in a storage closet! :) But I do plan to clean them all this Winter and have a spot for them.

Hence you'll be needing more room then.
