Found this beauty among other camp leftovers.After much work in the ER with this one it turns out that it very well may have signs of impact which were much deeper before the edge was compromised due to the deteriorating effects of years underground.While this was primarily a field instrument for making fascines, according to one source, it was also the soldiers last line of defense if he found himself in hand to hand combat. What a story it could tell .
