1 year of yard finds

Have been metal detecting for little over 1 year now (Teknetics) and these were all found in my own yard. Among the items are an 1865 2 cent piece which was found next to the skeleton key, a Joseph Shipman sleigh bell from the early 1800s, some early buttons, several early wheat cents and Indian Head pennies, a couple of rosettes and buckles, 1/2 of an old pocket watch, matching hinges,a thimble, and an old locket. Am not sure what the ball shaped piece is under the key (maybe a button of some type)?

Here is a closeup of the ball shaped metal object. Since posting this photo on What is it? it has been determined that this is an Antique Brass Metal Round Ball Dome Button (pre -1930s) made by the Waterbury company.

I have a book of our geneoligy a family member wrote in the 1950's. Do you know the name Mosher comes from England and means Moss Lord or Lord of the Moss. An English lord in our family tree owned large amounts of land that were mostly peat bogs. Funny thing, my grandpa Mosher, dug and sold peatmoss, and our land here is mostly a peatbog. Kevin

Kevin from IN, I have traced my Mosher name as well and it also goes back to England. My mother, coincidentally, is English. One ancestor was a reverend and another an ensign back in the 1600s and 1700s.

Very nice finds, should keep on looking for more.
Never found such items in my yard, tin foil and bottle caps is my norm lol.
Just recently moved to a new house, havent had a chance to check it out yet.
One never knows what may pop out.

Interesting thread, and very cool finds. I would be tempted to build a small trunk just to re-use and display the hinges. Amazed that you actually found both....BTW there was a Bobby Mosher that was married into my wife's family here in Texas, deceased now.

Actually found them each about 1 year apart. Also found these drawer pulls several months apart in a spot nearby.
