this beautiful knife handle i found a few day,s ago ;D ;D

it is a silver handle thats engraved with 8 birds and flowers

the blade was made from iron ,and did not survived the 400 years in the ground

a new blade will be made by a specialist soon

the handle is very rare (only a few are known in museum,s) :o

these knife,s were wedding gift,s in the late 16 / beginning 17 century a.d

also a name was engraved( ANEKEN GOYVAERTS) that,s a woman,s name ;D

Truely an amazing discovery! The work on it is stunning. It would seem that this knife came from a very wealthy household. I wonder if any information could be found about the family that this came from. Congratuations and please show us the photos of it with the handle.
