    Better Wheat Dates

Here are some Wheaties I have found with better dates on them. There are tons of Wheaties around here. I find about 200 a yr. The only down fall is no mintmarks on them. All Philadelphia's but I expect that with the mint only 300 or 400 miles from me. I guess Denver and Philadelphia would be a long way to travel to p.a. I did find a 1924 D last summer witch is the best one I have found so far. Also not pictured I did find a very weird mistruck wheatie. It looks all melted on the back. And is real thin near the boarder. This may sound crazy but instead of cent on the back. This coin says sent. It's one weird coin. I can't make out the date on it. It's either a 51 or 31 can't tell. I'll get some picks of it but don't know If it will show up on my scanner.

    Re: Better Wheat Dates

Thanks you 2. Sounds like you hunt the same type of time era of spots I do free. There is alot of wheat's to be found around here. I have tons from the teens all blank with no mint marks. I never leave them behind and it's always a good sign when your finding them at a spot. A 31D is pretty low mintage. Look for those types of coins to rise in the future.

The only two wheaties I have found were both 1944 which is the year of my birth! Weird huh?

Yeah it is. But this hobby can be strange at times. Just like when you find something in the weirdest place. Or when you least expect to find something at a spot it turns up. Keep at it there's alot lost out there.

All US coins with no mint marks from the last 100 years or so were made in Philly. It is the default mint.
