Alright folks, it's time to show us your dug Massachusetts Bay Colony Silvers. NE, Willow Tree, Oak Tree and Pine Tree Shillings, Sixpences, Threepence and Twopence and cut coins welcome. Please feel free to tell us how you found them and in what general area. I think it would be pretty cool to start building a dug Mass Silver census. If you don't know your variety, a few of us are pretty solid with our ID's.

Bill D, Bill Ladd, Silver Tree Chaser, SteeleHeadWill, Rhode Hog, Lawsonland, BigBobBow, Silversurfer1111 and many more, I'm talkin' to you! Post 'em up!

I'll start things off. This Noe 1 Oak Tree Shilling and quarter cut Noe 5 Pine Tree shilling were found in the same field in Western Massachusetts a few days apart, both with my XP Deus.

Great thread buddy. Think you all know my story. End of my first full year detecting I pulled this NOE 29 Pine Tree Shilling. A few feet away was a 1664 cob. Hope to add another Mass silver in 2016. Got a couple of promising sites

The many pieces of Massachusetts silver were found in the wreck of the HMS Feversham.

Hi all. Been a quiet period for me detecting-wise... But saw this and had to post. Found this on private property a few years back. Believe it's an Noe 1. Here's hoping you each add another tree coin to your collections this year. ~Geoff ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1454553902.092552.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1454553932.940995.jpg

Thanks Abe. Good to see you're still really active on T-net. Thanks for complements- wish mine was more complete (less clipped)- like yours- but it's still easily one of my most prized possessions that will one day be handed to my Son. That NE shilling is going to show up soon. Hope it's one of us!

What do you mean yours is "clipped" I like you can see the tree on yours, it has more detail then mine

He's referring to the edge being "trimmed" off. You can see where it says MASATHVSETS it's cut off. This was done at the mint in some cases to get the coins to be the correct silver weight. It was also sometimes done by a colonist.heres a pic of a full NOE 1
