Two rare Tom Green minnies, one dug in Louisiana and one in Tyler, Tx., called Tom Greens as they are found where the Texas Cavalry under General Green camped and fought. General Green was killed at Blairs Landing when they tried to fight the gunboats after the Yankees retreated after defeats at Mansfield and Pleasant Hill. General Green had a shell take off his head.

That's pretty cool. So other than not having rings and having a strange skirt at the bottom are there any other distinguishing characteristics?

They were produced on a machine similar to a Gardner but with a flange crimped over to hold the paper, pretty much only found in Texas and Louisiana sites
