I found an old Photo Pendant painted on glass

Hello again, I want to show you this find because is one of my favorite and it's the first time to find something like this on metal detecting. It's a lady wearing a nice necklace and it was found on a big hill near the Carpathian Mountains in Europe.

It's wonderful! Is it a painted miniature? I wonder if there was hair in the reverse compartment. I'm also curious about the iron cross -- you mentioned that you thought it was zinc.

Thank you, yes it is a painted miniature. On reverse is nothing special, I'll add a photo below. The cross is not the Iron Cross it is Austrian Carl Troops Cross Silver Rank and it is made from zinc and covered in a thin layer of silver some details in this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Troop_Cross or Crimson Mist Military Antiques
