My oldest dog license tag

Dug last month. Caused quite a stir. Apparently the oldest one known prior to this was 1940.

Never would have believed that they registered dogs that early. My oldest find in NY is a 1964 tag.

I have a 1930 tag from Michigan. 1900 though...earliest one I've seen. Mine actually says Dog License. Yours says Dog Tax. I find that interesting as they were probably referred to as a Tax first. But the word TAX has so many negative connotations that probably decided to change the word to LICENSE. Ha.
