Never would have believed that they registered dogs that early. My oldest find in NY is a 1964 tag.

I have a 1930 tag from Michigan. 1900 though...earliest one I've seen. Mine actually says Dog License. Yours says Dog Tax. I find that interesting as they were probably referred to as a Tax first. But the word TAX has so many negative connotations that probably decided to change the word to LICENSE. Ha.

I got a 1935 rabies vaccine tag... but yours is cooler and way older than mine.

The oldest one I've ever seen posted here was from the 1880s I can't remember where it was from though

love old dog tags. If yours is the "oldest known for that location", then perhaps it has collector value ?
