I came across some great stuff for my first year. Ive left out alot of buttons and other relics. I do enjoy digging relics. They are just as cool as coins but this thread is for the stuff that really stood out for me. Gotta give a thank you shout out to my dad for passing down his AT Pro to me and inspiring me to follow in his treasure hunting foot steps. I had never detected before until 2016 and didnt start then until August. So this stuff is from mid august til december and was all found in public city property and a few door knock permissions. Thanks for looking.

Great first year...spent my first year learning how to use my MD...Be glad your old man passed down some knowledge, a great metal detector, and a killer hobby. You also have 200 years more history than most of us on the West Coast. Keep it up!

Thanks for replying. Yes im very thankful for what my Dad did. Its a super fun hobby. My initial testing ground had a lot of iron, clad, buttons, a few large cents and a couple mercs. I was in standard mode for about 20 hours then moved over to pro mode all metal and have been letting my ears decipher everything. I try not to use the vdi too much. The at pro has plenty of depth and ive really enjoyed using it.

This year if permissions plan out, im going to hunt some fort sites, mills, and old farms. One farm i already have permission at is a 1700s farm with an untouched bottle dump in the woods. I dont know much about bottles but ill take a look and swing the detector around there as well. I tried one of the pastures and pulled out a musket ball and an ox knob but no coins.
