Just a simple Sunday morning find or so I thought.

Research showed that his business was at 25 Regent Street,Weston Super Mare in Somerset England.See picture.

I found that he and his wife decided to visit his brother in America.

What ship should they have chosen, but the Titanic.

Further research showed that his wife Alice was aboard lifeboat number 14 from the Carpathia.See picture.

Poor Charles like many other brave men when down with the Titanic and his body was recovered a few days later.

He was wearing a warm grey suit over his pyjamas.

In his pockets were a penknife 2 memo books,a fountain pen his London city and Midland bank book and £77-10 shillings and 4pence.

Alice spent the rest of her life in Bristol and lived to be an old lady of 79.

There is a lot more to this story, which all came about through finding a horses nose band in a field not far from W-S-Mare.

This artifact now resides in a National Trust Museum in Somerset UK.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.
