Since I have little time to detect I'd love to see everybody's 4 favorite silver finds. Coins, relics it makes no difference. But if you have a silver buckle we are not friends. I've found more than 20 shoe buckles and I've never even sniffed a damn fragment of silver. Well here's a few of mine. This was tough. I hope to see lots of others favorite silver finds

#1. 1652 Pine Tree Shilling NOE 29

2. 1749 Mexico mint Pillars and Globe 1 Real. This beauty was found at a mill site that one of my ancestors owned with his business partner. They only had a cabin there. No foundation and no sign that anything was ever there. It took me a very long time to find this site. When I finally did it produced more than 20 pre 1750 coins. This being the only silver. Most were in amazing condition which was due to several factors. The cabin was on the edge of a river with well draining beautiful soil. Perhaps the biggest factor was the fact that this site was long gone by 1770 or so. So these coins did not circulate for very long. Most of the coins were dated 1749 and were shipped from England to Massachusetts Bay as reimbursement for assistance with the Lewisburg expedition in Nova Scotia.

#3. Colonial Silver Scottish Luckenbooth Brooch. Being Scottish and Irish this was on my dream list as I always wanted to find one but thought the chances were slim. I stumbled upon this site looking for a much earlier site and a terrible signal produced this beauty. I was a very happy boy the day I found this awesome relic

#4. 1772 Real Converted into a Cufflink or Button. Love this Spanish that was turned into a cufflink or a button. Also found a Rev War era sling buckle there. Rev War camp maybe???? I will likely never know but I'm glad somebody dropped this

Here are my top 4 silver finds. My favorite is the sterling Ellison Claire pin. I still haven't figured out who that is yet.

All of the finds on this thread are terrible and you should be embarrassed to even post them. I'm not in the least bit jealous

Sent from my Pixel 2 using TreasureNet.com mobile app
Well Mr. Fresh Prince of the Pasture, you must have been so horrified that you had to look at all of them as noted in your opening line "All the finds on this thread..."

Hey folks/. Here are my favorite 4 finds. Canadian 50 cents in VF condition, umbrella handle tip (England c.1930), Victorian era silver brooch and Ethiopian silver commemorative medal depicting the emperor Haile Selassie raising the victory flag. Ok, I will share. These are my 4 top silver items. They may not compare with some others on here, but I cherish each one.

1. 1798 Spanish Reale
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513118932.592838.jpg
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513118944.652399.jpg

Found this last year WAY out in the middle of nowhere. My hunting buddy brought me up there, and I pulled this at 10” in sandy dirt with my ATPRO. I was speechless at first because I knew what it was...but couldn’t believe it was up there. About 10 ft from a cellar hole.

2. 1820 Dime

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119144.700902.jpg
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119155.485435.jpg

Found this earlier in the year at my buddy’s site. He had pounded the area but I walked down towards a creek thinking it may have been the path they took for water. Found it at 6” up against a tree. Rang up as a penny on the CTX but I figured it was to be something good. I thought it was a button at first because it was just a dull, grey disk. But a little wipe revealed the reverse shield and I was pumped. My buddy was a little envious, but the next week he pulled an 1827 Half from a site I found so it more than made up for it!

3. Big Silver Ring

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119301.977036.jpg
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119313.111334.jpg

I have a fondness for this ring...really because of the story of its “unearthing”. My wife and I had our first son and I hadn’t been out detecting much... so one day I got off work early (back in Michigan) and hit a park on the way home. It was snow/raining and cold as hell. I found a few bottle caps, some clad... and was walking back to the car after about 15 mins saying “screw the park!”. I had a SOLID 96 on my ATPRO and thought, “it’s just a stupid buried can...”. But, my gut said DIG IT. About 2” down this came up and was my first ring! I was still beaming weeks later.

4. 1843 Seated Dime

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119663.850470.jpg
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1513119673.361967.jpg

Still my lone seated coin I’ve ever dug. I went out on Thanksgiving in 2015 with my nephew right after we moved to Maine. I had driven by a site that looked good and figured I would try it. I had the ATPRO, my nephew had my old ACE250. I was pulling garbage, then a few old lantern pieces.. I got a hit between 2 big rocks that was a super crisp 84 on the AT. Fought like hell moving them and found this little thing beneath. It’s pretty rough as it was sitting with trash, and I slightly swiped the front with my digger (was pretty fed up moving the rocks and started going nuts with it). This was my first coin find in Maine, and I will never forget it.

I hope you enjoyed the list. I’m always hopeful to add a silver colonial coin or buckle. All you can do is DIG IT ALL! Those who can still get out, I’m envious as we’re pretty frozen over already. For the rest of us I guess it’s time to dig into the research! GL & HH!

Some really fantastic finds my friend. I’m yet to find capped silver so that’s a big one for me. Great looking Spanish too. Keep doing what you’re doing cause it’s working

Liking the thead!

I only pulled from this year's Tnet pics.
1) I just love Seated Coins so finally getting a Seated Half Dollar was awesome. Getting the Barber and other coins in the same small area of a property I've hunted before was really amazing.
2. I love this heavy plated thing. Its from a Colonial Site. Rosette I 'd imagine.
3. Seated Half Dime.
4. Silver and turquoise bracelet. runner up Multiple Standing liberty quarters. first year I found one and I found 8 this year!

Not bad for a Clemson fan :laughing7: (Just messin' with you)

Man, It would be hard to say which is more impressive-the pine tree or silver buckle. Those are both rare and spectacular finds!
