I'm embarrassed that I kissed it with my shovel. But in my defense it rang up exactly the same as all 17 of the flattened tin cans I had dug that day too.

I am a little embarrassed about the kiss mark on the front. The bend was there when I pulled it out of the ground.

The skeleton key is patent dated 1871, the year before the building I found it next to was built! One of my very favorite finds!

Nice! Don't feel bad, we've all clipped a find I think. I scuffed my 1785 2 Reales

Nice stuff. I'll post toward the end of the year, got a few more weeks to go before I pass out from exhaustion. OLDEST find to date Phillip II of Spain tiny maravedis or blanca coin, about 450-500 years old. Best - depends on the day I'm looking at the stuff.

I could not imagine the feeling of pulling a 1/2 Reale from the hole, let alone a 2 Reale. You sir, for me, have found my holy grail. Congratulations on a Beautiful find!! The kiss mark only proves you didn't buy it from a coin dealer.
