The "Big 8" Club. Want to join?

In my detecting club we have what is called the Big 8 Club. You are an instant member when you find an 8 Reale. I found mine real early in my metal detecting career, within 5 months of starting and the 1st day of using my Minelab Exp. SE. It is a 1798 Mexico mint in near mint condition. It was found at a house which has been occupied since the early 1700s. When I found it I knew it was a good find but I didn't realize how rare it was to find one in this condition.

I would like to propose a TreasureNet Big 8 Club. If you have found one please post a pic and a brief description of the find. Have fun!

They were found after a storm there both dated "1670" I had them mounted on my 2 biggest silver chains so I can wear them every where...almost every day!!! my favorite finds of all time!

I recently had a 1 reale that I found placed in a custom made silver bezel...

Re: The "Big 8" Club. Want to join?

Here's mine:

FAKE (contemporary counterfeit) 1795 8 REALES

Even has George III countermark which was done to these coins in 1804 for use as 4 Shillings & 9 Pence, due to shortage of silver.

The saying at the time was:

"The head of a Madman on the neck of a Fool"
