Since doing research on Drakes Plate of Brass, I have come to the conclusion that there probably was no original 16th century "Plate Of Brass" placed at the landing site. As far as Metal Points go, most of the them probably would of been made of copper. My guess would be the most valuable pieces of any ship likely would of been any brass pot on board, to use in cooking including the ships bell, or any metal helmet of some kind for cooking. Since it would of had extreme value to the natives. With the copper (Copper ships plates)being used for metal points. (arrowheads). Rocks along the coast not the best for arrowheads. So next time you find old metal of some kind you might want to examine it carefully before disregarding it.
