Howdy fellow THer's,
I was looking at some of the posts lately, and it is true... you just don't forget that first
gold ring that you popped out of the ground. It's a magical thing. What else would get a
person to dig a zillion pull tabs, for that one glint of gold against the black dirt!!
Well, here is my first. It was found in the mid 80's with a Whites 6000 D Series 2.
Found in the yard of a home demolition, before they tore the house down. I almost
didn't dig it, but it just sounded a little bit different... and am I glad I did. From the
day this little cutie saw light again, it's been on my pinky finger. Since then, I've found
lots of gold rings, some with diamonds, some bigger, but this one is my favorite!! :)
Well, let's see everyones first gold ring!

Hi,

Here's my first Gold Ring. Found with F-75 at an elementary school play-ground baseball diamond. Just beyond first base. Indication was that of a nickel. There was no bouncing between numbers, was a solid hit. Dug a small plug, and the ring was about 2" deep in the grass roots.

14K with a large center mount marquise

Here's my first and best gold ring ever, I never have be able to top this beauty.

Found this on the same day Nicole Simpson was murdered, And not too far from her death either. I was using an old Whites 6000 detecting the dry sand area of Venice beach when this jewel pops up, It took me years to finally find my first gold ring and this has been my best gold jewelry find thus far.

The ring is 14K with a large center mount marquise with 28 smaller diamonds surrounding the marquise.

I just started detecting last March. Here is the only gold ring I found so far. Unfortunately it has CZs.

Dug this 14k gold, 1 Carat diamonds, in a baseball field. It was a perfect fit too. I had just started detecting and I thought, Man, what a great hobby this is going to be. I found a few more gold rings since this one but not as nice or as many as I thought I was going to find. I'm gonna keep looking though.

We've only been detecting since August but on our first or second trip to the beach we found this 14k white gold diamond ring. The two diamonds are small and unfortunately, the center stone was missing, but heck, we were happy to find it.

Wow, there sure are a lot of really sweet looking rings here! Here's my first, a 10K ring found in Feb, 2006 4" down in the sand at a large neighborhood playground with my ACE250. I never did have the stones checked out.

This one got me Hooked.

It was at a boating beach near home early summer 2007..I'd be finding clad regularly and always told the wife that the diamond ring was coming THAT day (every day of detecting).

It's 14K with a garnet and 2 little diamonds.

Next day I checked the exact spot again and there was my 2nd 14K ring..this time with a HUGE CZ..but sure looked like a diamond.

My boys received a White's Classic II detector for Christmas 2007. We are all new to the hobby. My first search with the detector was while they were in school. I came away with some loose change and this ring. After it was cleaned up, we could read the 10k stamp on the inside. Pretty cool being my first ring and on my first day of searching! Maybe we can keep up the luck.

My first and only gold ring ever!!!! Found in Arkansas on a Civil War campsite!!!!! Not in the best of shape either!! The stone was missing when I found it and the band was broken also. Probably because the band is not solid, it is what someone told me, they called it (hollow filled)!!!

An ex-coworker lost his wedding band about 10 years ago in his parents back yard. I ask him about what he knows about private land atop Lookout Mtn. TN. Mind you he knows not that Im into the MD thing. I explain why I wanno know about the land. He askes if I could help find his ring and I say yes. The first hunt is about 3 hours. We cant find it. About a month later we try agian. About 2 hours into it we are about to call it quits when he asks me to check his target with my machine Just before he asks I get a signal where Im at and stick my digger in the spot Ive found. I walk over and check his target and tweak his machine to dial out the junk. About 10 minutes go by and we start swingin again and realize I have a target over where my digger is. I scan and dig. The plug reveals nothing and then I scoop a handfull of dirt out. This is when I get the camera out and snap the shot before he sees what Im doing. Then I says "hey Don. cone check this out". I pull it outta the hole and we go nuts with excitement.
My first ring and couldnt keep it. Twas a good deed done that day that has paid off many times over. The end.

Located it last year in a garden after being lost for over a year.
They are still thanking me lol.
Can't wait to find one I can keep, but returning them is worth it.

Donny
