As I have no idea what an ornament stone is, I'm going to venture this is something museum quality? Wow, looks great!

Here goes. The stone several hundred years old I found on my property in Minnesota is a Fur Trade era artifact mold for making effigies, brooches, buttons and musket shot. The Copper Culture Socket blade is Native American and thousands of years old also found by me in a property line dump site.

Good question that I have no evidence or proof. In my opinion I don't think so. A mirror image would be quite difficult to make. All the brooches and bars of this type I have seen all have a flat side. Theses two lead brooches from a fellow fur trade artifact hunter that were found in Canada are flat on one side. I have seen similar bars.

Just wondering. What is meant by museum finds. Should I give to a museum or keep as a hand me down for my children?

After hearing they caught a janitor (high school kid) at the IL State Museum selling samuri swords out the back door I never ever considered giving anything to a museum. A private collector pays big money for an artifact. He has skin in the game. Museum employees, although no doubt good people, have no skin in the game. It's no financial loss to them if something disappears. Berlin, Germany, 1980's. Several important Iron Cross medals from the 1800's stolen. Inside job. Medals never found. Norway, a gift from Abe Lincoln to the King of Norway. A pair of engraved Colt pistols by Gustave Young. Priceless gold inlaid artifacts stolen from the museum and never recovered. I could go on and on. Keep your find and give it to your kids or sell it to a private collector. Gary

This reminds me of the CROP CIRCLES that we see across the pond. Great finds!
