Civil War Soldiers ring?

I recently dug this @ a cabin site in Ohio.There is no marks but ring is silver and shield is gold.This site had several Infantry and General service coat buttons along with 2 store cards.This is hundreds of miles from any battlefields but i often find coat buttons and have been lucky enough to find 3 plates also.Can i get opinions on what this ring is and if y

This ring is a beauty. It could possibly belong to an old vet from the CW. The fact that some plates and coat buttons came from this same area makes you wonder if maybe some reunions or gatherings of these old vets may have taken place there. Maybe some soldiers from local regiments that fought in the war. Well Done on a Great find.

No plates came from this site.Only buttons and store cards.I meant ive dug plates in this county here in Ohio

And depending on where you dug it in Ohio, there were training grounds and also POW camps for the CW.
